One of the amazing screenings of the HPLFF was of “Berkeley Square,” an Oscar-nominated film from 1933, and a film that inspired Lovecraft’s “The Shadow Out of Time.”

Once thought to be lost, this was the first time the recently-restored print had been shown on a big screen. Directed by Frank Lloyd, and starring Leslie Howard (who garnered the nomination for his performance), the film follows a man who steps into the life of his ancestor after the American Revolution.

If you get a chance to see the film, it’s highly recommended.
